Well I have dropped Buddy off at the vets after making the decision to have him neutered after all so he can find a wife to live with. He was wheeking at me over his food bowl this morning waiting for a top up of pellets but instead I took him for a cuddle then shoved him in the odd looking plastic box (pet carrier) and whisked him away to a strange place. God I feel so mean to my poor boy so fingers crossed it all goes as smoothly as Peter's neutering did so that he can be happy and no longer live alone

Good luck to Buddy. It will be worth it in a couple of months when he has a lady friend! My Cyrus says so anyway!

Think you feel bad, wait till he wakes up with bits missing. I'd be fuming.

Aw, hope all goes well for him :))
I was a nervous wreck when Frankie and Benny had their 'plums pickled' but they were absolutely fine within 24 hours of getting them back home :(|)
Keep us posted and sending hugs x>>

Sending vibes for Buddy!
I hope it goes all well! I'm sure he'll make a great piggy husband :<>
Keep us posted how it goes!

Don't worry yourself about Buddy, he'll be fine. No doubt he will be a bit groggy when he comes home. I think fresh grass and dandilion leaves might be in order.

Hope it all goes well for Buddy, poor lad...

x

Buddy is fine, called the vets at 2 and they let me know everything went really well. I can collect him anytime after 4 so have scrubbed and disinfected his cage to within an inch of its life. He is going to be grumpy with me as not only has he lost his balls but I've put him back on fleece and insisting he has a hayrack rather than a huge bundle to jump in. Its only while he heals but he much preferred being on wood shavings and hay.

Have been to the market and spent £2 on tomatoes, cucumber and green beans as a treat for him to nom while having lots of cuddles later

Awww, glad he's okay. Tell him it'll be worth it. Rocket will be joining the girls next week ( all being well and his ears are given the all clear) so I'm sure he'll agree with me too. :(|)

So glad Buddy's op went well, let's hope this is the key the gorgeous little man finding his perfect home :)

Well the decision on his home has been made. I got told that my cheque will be sent from the solicitors shortly which is my deposit for a new house. I then decided neutering Buddy ahead of moving home and getting him a wifepig so he stays with me :red can't help but love the little fella

I'm glad he's staying with you and his op went well! can't believe you embaressed him on facebook though ;)

haha well tomorrow I will pop up the pics of Buddys "shaven haven" lol :)) Having just stayed up late letting him poo and wee on me for the sake of making sure he started eating I think he's had payback

Sending some healing wheeeeeeeeeky loves for Buddy XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

He is one VERY loved piggie x)x)x)x)

Bit concerned about him today, he didn't eat a lot yesterday so syringed some mushed up pellets and again today doesn't seem he's had much so just syringed a tiny bit more, he won't take anymore and looks like he's starting with impaction, have just a damp flannel to try and clean him a bit but can't manipulate the area because of the stitches and he's still swollen. We have the post op check up tomorrow morning so will be voicing all my concerns then

Quick update, Buddy is ok, not brilliant but ok. He's had a clear out this morning as he had the start of impaction and his poo's are very soft (probably a mix of the op and only eating soft watery foods). He now has antacids and painkillers to take to help him along and seems a lot perkier if not a bit traumatised from yet another visit to the vets for a poking. He's coming with me to the boyfriends tonight so I can keep a close eye on him and if he's not improved by Monday then its back to the vets

My cyrus had slight impaction the days following the neutering. As you say its difficult trying to manipulate the blockage out around the wounds. Hope Buddy continues to picky up..

Bless him, hope he's picking up, Harvey was also impacted for a few days after his neuter. Lots of healing vibes and X's for lovely Buddy from me and my mum :)

Buddy came for a trip to my boyfriends for the weekend so we could keep an eye on him, after his meds and some green spaghetti/dandelion leaves fresh from my fellas garden he perked up. He spent a good hour lounging across us being fed broccoli last night too. Poo's seem normal and he looks a lot cleaner and less swollen down there now thankfully

Good.

Just caught up on this. Lots of love to Buddy, hope he continues to recover well.
