It’s getting a bit cold and going to do a temporary enclosure inside plus it’s good for them to have a little run

the C and C cage I want is £60 and wondering your thoughts... or a good place to get one. I don’t mind if it’s used :)

You can get grids on Amazon (and eBay I think) and correx on eBay. Or look for the guinea pig cages site in the U.K. just make sure they’re 9 holes and not 8.

I literally just used corroplax for mine. It cost around £17 for the correx from eBay and I was able to measure it to the size of the room as I knew the size I wanted. It was sturdy and protected the walls you can even make it higher if you wish. It's really easy to clean as well. I also previously purchased some C&C grids for around £40 and made a specious enclosure see below. Would recommend both but it's much easier to seperate if needed with the C&C. Good luck! :)received_1210316922669808~2.webp

wow that’s brill space for them! So is C and C a brand or just what u call the metal grids?
I’ve had a look on Amazon but they all seem the have the 8 holes rather than the 9!

No it’s not a brand it means cubes and coroplast/correx
There are definitely many on Amazon which have 9 holes.

I think C&C grids are always a good investment.
They can double as a play pen, temporary cage, and can easily be moved around to fit the space you have available.

C&C grids are ver versatile, they fold down into such a small space they are easy to store. I get my grids on ebay from grendle, they are better quality than a lot of others I've tried. I think enough grids for a 4x2 cost £40. I either get corex locally from a firm called Armari Plastics or from ebay. If it's just a temporary cage and you use fleece bedding you could protect the floor with a sheet of plastic.

This is the one I used and it's really good can make it any shape you like ! Made a 6 x 6 I think and you might be able to add a second story. It was below £40 I think and I personally prefer the white ones to the black ones think they look better good luck! :)

Thank you to everyone really grateful brought them in tonight :)

Could someone send me a link to the 9 hole one because I can’t seem to get one? Thank you :)

I don't know if this is helpful at all, but I have constructed their run from this, which I bought on amazon. It is cheaper but perhaps it gives a smaller run than those linked by others (?) The panels themselves are half the size in width but the height is good. This has given our piggies a big run but one side of that run is entirely composed of their hutch and so doesn't use up any of the panels. (I did buy more of the connectors but also managed to get them extremely cheaply.) I bought these when the piggies were still babies as I had read that they could get stuck trying to get through a grid. I am glad I chose them as their run is on the shed floor, facing the door, and so the hope is that the opaque panels block any floor draft that would otherwise come their way. I also like them because it makes it all look less cage-like.

This is that shoe-rack reconfigured as a run, to give you an idea of how much space these panels would give (taking into account my version features a hutch). I did have to buy more connectors though, as I said above. The 'roof' panels are placed above the hideys to stop escape-artists but those above the bowl are only there because I wanted to make a wall down the side of the hutch and it wasn't possible to use connectors with the back wall. (The join didn't line up where I needed it and so the roof just gives extra support to that wall which I have braced against the hutch with the tiles and wood.). For the rest of it, the height works well without additional measures.

@Tara95 where did you get the clear grids from? I like them and thinking of changing some of my grids to the clear ones but I can't find them, only the opaque ones.

@ladymuck83 I bought all of my grids second hand so unfortunately I can't be of any help altho I have bought some of the grids with 8 squares to build my bunny and cat their own condos and when I was building the bunny condo one of my younger piggies (my daughter got him out for lap time and sat on the floor so he wanted to be nosy and see what I was building) went straight thro the holes but if he tried it now (not even 2 months down the line) he'd get his head stuck in it so even tho they are the same size on the outside the grids inside are definitely not which is dangerous for the piggies.

Don't be fooled they're aren't clear they're white blurry! I ordered the normal C & C grids and they sent me these by mistake. If you still want them I will try and hunt them down, but not clear by any means I'd like to buy some clear windows.

Your picture makes them look clear tho so your camera must be able to take xray pictures 🤣
The only way I've been able to work out how to get clear grids is to get acrylic glass cut to size which I've seen quotes starting at £6 a 30cm x 30cm square of 3mm thick or by a sheet of acrylic and cut it down yourself (I don't know about you but even with a straight line to follow I can't cut in a straight line! 🤣😂🤣

Sorry I don't know how to do a link but I'm pretty sure this is what they gave me by mistake. Screenshot_20210107-165223.png

It's saying it's not available but I'm pretty sure this is the same thing on wayfair.Screenshot_20210107-165344.webp
It's probably clearer that what you've got but it is plastic and quite blurry in my opinion and not the most stable. I'm sure they do special glass C&C windows in america. And lol sounds like quite a process! :) Xx

@Tara95 always the way that they have the special c&c window grids in America and we can't get them here!
Those ones look clearer than all of the others I've seen altho I think I'll change my bearded dragons, Fluffy, vivarium to a bigger one first and update all of her equipment then see what I have afterwards as to whether to buy a pack of those or save up and get pre cut acrylic glass as I only really want it more for aesthetics for the front of the piggies enclosures....
