Hi,
So I have posted a thread about needing a friend for my bereaved boar but a rescue centre say I need a bigger cage. A C and C would be best as I have a cat- the minimum is 6ft by 2ft they say. I will need aloe but how do I do this ? I need a lot of help please . My poor boy

So for two boars the cage size needed is 5 grids by 2 grids. That measures 6ft by just over 2 ft (180x77cm usually).

I think your post is meant to say you will need a lid. Lids are made by overlapping grids and cable tying them together. They need to be overlapped otherwise they bend. Support bars are also needed which sit along the cage walls and support the lid when it is closed.

If you search for candcguineapigcages, then there is a UK company who sell entire kits - contains everything you need to make the cage. Lids can be added at the point of ordering. I know they have been closed for their holiday so while they are still taking orders, dispatch is delayed.
Alternatively you can buy the grids and correx separately from amazon and hardware stores

Personally, i think it’s easier to buy a kit particularly if you arent confident in how to do it, particularly with a lid, then getting a kit can be very helpful. Everything you need will be sent to you and then you just follow the instructions on how to build it. Ive had kits from them and they are quite easy.

Thank you

Which way would be best? At least if I go through them , I am getting everything I need
I agree with @Piggies&buns if you are new to a C&C set up amd especially if you need a secure lid and supporting bars to keep out a cat, best get the whole kit with everything included. Once you get a feel for how a C&C works and fits together, you could always then in future buy extra bits to extend the cage. If like many of us you accidentally and repeatedly bring home extra piggies, I have 8 now :)

I have bought cages from C&C Cages - it is very easy as everything comes measured, scored and with all the grids and ties you need.
They are also flexible in how you build them.
Mine is an L shape to fit the room it’s in

Do you need a stand do you think or do you think it will be ok on the floor?
