I've just bonded my babies with the older ones. They are in the C&C cage now with new correx. It's 10 inches high at the side (that was easier than cutting or to 9 inches) because of the babies ability to get caught. I don't have enough grids to double.

What weight do the babies have to be before I can safely cut the sides back down to normal?

i have a 10 month guinea pig, Brownie, on my profile pic, and Millie, the older one too!brownie.webp 170827329-4.webp

I'm glad you asked that question. I was just thinking the same thing! I think I'll have enough grids to double up (I hadn't thought of that) as I'm going to take the loft and platforms out, half our cage has double grids going upwards as Willow was such a climber I was afraid he would go over the top.

I've got my heart in my mouth watching the small acrobat - but I don't want her or her sister to get their head stuck through the grids exploring (and yes I have the 9 square safe grids).

Willow and Bracken were older when I got them so the C&C cage wasn't a problem. This little one is 8-10 weeks. I've got him in a commercial cage at the moment but if he bonds okay with Bracken I'm intending to take the C & C apart and rebuild it while they are in the puppy pen.
