Hi all
Was wondering what everybody thought of my design for my c+c it's only a rough sketch but hopefully you'll get my gist :))
u6ydejeq.jpg

The question marks on the ends are because I'm not sure if I can fit the extra one on the end, my fingers are crossed mind you
Has anyone got any ideas to make it better?
And do you think that will be big enough for 4 girls?
Thanks

Piggie blueprints :)

I am pretty sure 2x6 is big enough for 4 although the bigger the better... Having an upstairs as well will help give them space too

Well that lined off bit is supposed to be the upstairs bits hehe it's got a hay loft and another quit long corridor the other side upstairs :)

I'm hoping to get the extra cube at the end to be honest

Looks good. I've got a 4x2 L as well :) My only concern would be that if they're anything like my piggies they'll use the bottom of the ramp as a toilet area which according to your design will end up being in the far corner (needs to be quite long to get the right gradient) which is the hardest corner to get to! If you're taller and have longer arms than me it might not be as problematic as it is for me (I'm tiny!) Also if you do manage to add the extra grids on are you intending to have a 2x4 loft? Again this may cause access problems to the far corner underneath it (piggies are experts at figuring out the most difficult areas for you to reach to use as their toilets!)

All in all it looks fab and very exciting - I love my c&c :)

Erm no il keep the hay loft the same size just because of cleaning like you say..
The toilet issue I could move the ramp but then again like you say the gradient has got to be right, if I have the 5/2 then it shouldn't be too much of a problem it all depends if we need a sink in the laundry room or not hehe

Remember you can overlap grids if you can't fit a full grid width if you are using cable ties

Hi there are some great threads in the housing section of the forum it all about C & C Cages. We went to C & C about a year ago and have changed our orginal lay-out several times since then. Thats one of the great things about C & C cages you can change it to what works for you. Your plan looks fab.. :)) and with your upper levels your girls will have fantastic space. We use 2 types of grid for ours.. the standard grid and the Half size plastic grids, that way you can maximise your floor area to fit with your available floor space.

This is a photo of our current set-up with the upper level removed and piggie bonding area on the left hand side..( dark blue fleece ) When the bonding area is removed it forms a 4 * 4 C & C with a 3 1/2 * 1 1/2 upper level, for our Neutered Boar & 3 wifepigs..

Thanks for the advice yours looks fab :) il keep having a think like you say I can always swap and change around when iv done it if it doesn't suit :))

I bent a couple of mine too so it fitted where I wanted it to.You can bend grids to make hay racks as well although my hubby had to bend them in at the sides as well so my girls couldn.t jump in it.You could stand them vertically and put them in a corner
