I ordered my grids and correx on Sunday night and I'm over the moon that they both arrived before 12pm today! I My grids only got dispatched yesterday afternoon and it said they wouldn't be delivered until at least Thursday - 10/10 for Wayfair (I bought two packs off Amazon as for some reason it was cheaper than their website) The correx... err, it's perfectly usable but there's quite a few dents/splits near the ends. I'm not going to send them back but I can't say I'm thrilled. I can't really complain seeing as I got three 4mm sheets delivered for £30. I'm sure the (future) piggies won't mind. Now I just need to find the time to build it. Here's a few pictures of what I mean (and also an inquisitive dog smelling the grids): 2015-01-20 13.00.04.webp 2015-01-20 13.02.38.webp 2015-01-20 13.08.13.webp

Glad your supplies have arrived. You will be so excited. I would just stick some duct tape over the splits. You won't see them anyway once the cage is built and your bedding is in. :nod:

Are you adopting some piggies?

Oooh exciting! The grids look great! If I was you I would get in touch with whoever you bought the correx from. Although it is still perfectly usable, you did not pay that money for correx with cuts and dents all over it. Show them the pics and see if they will refund you at least some of the money.

Three hours later and I'm done... almost. I was originally going to go for a 4x2 but in the end I went for a 5x2 (minus two squares, if that makes sense) with a 2x1 loft. Putting the cubes together was the fun part, the correx not so much. I still haven't got the correx in the loft but that can wait until tomorrow.

@aimzer I'm planning on doing that in the morning. On closer inspection, one of them is so bad that I may as well chuck it. It's mostly dents however it's unsightly and not what I paid for. It's a shame as I can't fault them on delivery times and price but maybe you get what you pay for.

@Julie M That is the plan if possible.

@Maisy and Poppy It's almost a 5x2 with a 2x1 loft :)

Your cortex looks much thinner than mine- the sheets I have are about a cm thick... maybe it's just the photos though!

It's 99% done now! The only thing I have to do is to figure something out for a ramp. I'm not keen on the idea of bending the grids and I'm not entirely sure how I'd make one out of correx :hmm:In total it came to around £100 which although not cheap is pretty reasonable considering how much a Ferplast 120/140 goes for.

@Jennifer D I was actually quite surprised at how thin it was for 4mm if I'm honest - I had to measure it to make sure they hadn't sent 2mm. I may in the future try and get some black correx in 6mm.

Here's a picture of the finished(ish) product:

Haha, just been trying to work out if that is dogs paws on the right of the grids?

Yep, that's his paws :)) It took twice as long to make the cage as he was always trying to see what I was doing.

Ramp is now built so I can now say it's finished! Quite happy with how it has turned out.

It's just a sheet of correx with another piece at the top to keep its shape. I was worried it wouldn't be strong enough but it's actually quite sturdy. In the future I may try and source a cat scratching board (got the idea from PiggiePigPigs) but it will do the job for the time being.
