Millie has grown a lot so she, Bonnie and Lottie are in need of a bigger home.
They are currently in a 4ft by 2ft which is on a stand but because I have a fused spine it is rather low. I like the cages on stands but they all seem rather low.

Hubby said he would help build a c&c but I don't know where to start!
I need this cage to be waist level so I don't have to bend so I need it on a table of some sort. I've seen trestle tables-would they be sturdy enough, of course I would have to check the height.

It's the cortex bit that I don't really understand.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
 
which part of the correx bit do you not understand?
 
Well standard sheet size is 4ft x 8ft, there are 2 ways of doing it, one is to cut the size of the base first, then cut the side's and end's after as wide (high) as you want them and tape them to the base so that they fold up.

Or there is a far more complicted way to do it by scoring it not cutting it, there are loads of video's on youtube this is where i got my plans from.

The thicker the correx the better.
 
When I read your post I remembered a thread that I quite liked the look of due to the storage underneath, it might not be high enough for you but you'll get the idea

Just bumping this thread up.

I know many of you have c&c's so would be great to know what those of you place your c&c on?
 
my 5x2 c&c is on a trestle table, just the standard wooden one with legs at each end

I post this photo as you can see the grids are wider than the table, the table is positioned (after I took this photo) in the middle of the base, I purposefully put a base on to stabalise the whole pen set up, using the solid plastic ones at the far side to catch any muck that may escape the correx (which it actually hasnt).

Its waist height and stable, but remember not to lean directly on the center section as its not designed to take a lot of weight. You can get trestle tables with center legs, I can stack storage boxes underneath to create a "leg" should the weight be too much, but for the two boys, there is actually not any problems. I also purposefully put the bedroom section on one end, the hay and litter boxes the other where the most weight would be.

Before pigs were put in a basic mock up of the pen, I used two sheets of correx 3ft x4ft big, fitted perfectly and the far section slides along towards me for ease of cleaning out - I knew the far end would be difficult to get to in my set up so I also designed this function to suit me. I brought a 5 pack of this size coloured correx for about £20 ish + postage, i brought two as I have a 5 pack for the herds pen for the winter too, it cost the same postage for two packs as it did one.

I will have to dig out the places I got the grids and correx if you wanted to know, two packs of plastic grids (second hand mesh grids), two packs of 5 correx sheets.
 
I just bought c&c grids for the first time (don't have the correx yet) I got mine from amazon £34.99. Type in 'wire cubes in black' this was cheapest I could find.

I think I understand the correx, you just cut it wider than the base then snip & fold the sides up altho where to buy it I'm not sure...

Ps. I have seen some where little bookcases/cupboards have been pushed together to stand them on, and some where more c&c has been used to make a base. If you google images or look on YouTube there are lots of ideas xx

Well I am useless and I managed to put mine together in like 5 mins. Was quite impressed with myself! Haha.
