Hi guys!
Due to the fact my guinea-pig-obsession has convinced me to get two more pigs, I've had to upgrade from a 2x6 c&c to a 3.5x9 c&c, I was wondering if this is big enough for 5 pigs (one boar, four sows). I have checked that it is at least big enough to house 5 pigs to the point where each have at least 7.5sq ft each (which is the bare minimum), but I'm not sure exactly how much sq ft each pig has, and if it's too small to live in for a long time because I don't plan on upgrading again (unless necessary). I really want to give my pigs the best life possible and I don't want to just give them the bare minimum. Thanks! 🙂

It is big enough, in fact it is bigger than it needs to be!
Five pigs need a 2x7 c&c cage (which is already above minimum)
It’s calculated as a 2x4 for two pigs (sows or a sow and neutered boar) with an additional 1x2 for each additional pig.

Thanks so much :)

I always wonder if mine are the size of capybara cause I can't imagine having 5 in the 2x9 😂 But bet it's easier to clean one big set up than multiple smaller ones.
Enjoy your new family members!

Welcome to the forum, I think I recognise your two new girls, in fact I think I might have cuddled one last time I dropped my piggies off for boarding a few weeks ago?
Wow! What a coincidence, haha. If you dropped your pigs off for boarding at Maria's Animal Shelter in Cornwall, you definitely have seen my new girls before! I only got them today, and they're about 6 weeks old, so you must've seen them when they had just managed to rescue them! Did you cuddle one of mine in specific or one from the herd they were residing with?

Thanks! Yeah, it's ALOT easier to clean. They still have designated poop areas but apart from that, everything else is much more dispersed throughout the cage - almost makes it enjoyable to clean rather than a chore! haha

Yes I cuddled the little white and grey one ❤️ Three of my piggies come from Maria’s, they are such a lovely bunch! They had only just come in with several other piggies

My lot
Hector (dumped in a hedge with 5 other young boars
Posh, rescued from a hoarder
Ginger, rescued from the same hoarder
Kiki from is from The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary in Northampton (mother bred for live snake food)

That's really such a coincidence! These girls are so skittish I don't know how you managed to keep her still for a cuddle!
It's very sad to hear what awful backstories your pigs went through, but I'm glad they're rescued now! They're lucky to have you as their owner 🥰

I kept a very firm hold! I know what these little skittish babies are like. They were all gorgeous, there were a lovely little white piggie with them (I have a soft spot for all white piggies) and another grey and white one if I remember (well those are the ones I saw in the cages, but some may have been hiding in the hay!)

Yeah I fell in love with the white one two, but the ones I picked also stole my heart - it was one of the hardest choices I've ever made choosing these babies! They were all gorgeous pigs, and so small too! I've never seen or held a baby pig before so it was definitely a surprise to me when I attempted at holding them, haha. Ever since I've got them they've just been popcorning all over the place - totally different to my older pigs. :xd:

Aw, they are beautiful! I can imagine how hard it was to choose two. I always want to bring piggies home, just as well the OH usually comes with me 😁
