Cage cleaning bereaved boar

Weekly cage cleaning is due today. Having lost Scottie on Tuesday should I leave Ronnies cage for another couple of days to retain Scottie’s scent. Also I have left a fleece in the cage also with Scottie’s scent. When is the best time to remove it? Ronnie looks so sad but is eating, drinking and maintaining weight. I’ve everything crossed the rescue can find a companion soon. Many thanks

When Jemimah passed away I left a tunnel in the cage after the first clean so there was still something with her scent on.
I waited a few days after her death before that first clean, just to give them time.
When Merab was left as a single piggy it was a few weeks before I was able to find suitable companions ( Keziah & Jemimah).

Like your Ronnie she was very quiet but was eating ok.
Hope you can find a suitable companion for him soon.
