Hi again, we've now had the 2 piggies 4 weeks and they seem happy and well bedded on newspaper, bedmax and a liberal layer of hay (fresh hay added daily for eating) in a 120 x 60 cage. (indoors)
I have been cleaning the cage 2 x week until now, but am wondering if it could be done weekly in winter as we build up a nice thick layer and then bin it twice a week. Wondering if it would be warmer if left for weekly clean, bit like a horse in a deep litter bed!
Any advice please?
Thank you

I would not leave it for a whole week as guinea pigs produce a lot of urine and there would be a lot of bacteria on the bedding.

i would think it would be wetter and therefore colder rather than warmer. i think 2x a week is the absolute minimum a cage should be cleaned personally. :)
