Evening everyone,

What safe cage cleaners do people recommend? I currently use warm/hot water with a little bit of fairy liquid. Mine are indoors btw

I also use the green bottle animal safe one. I find it has a gentle smell without being too strong. My two are in a c&c and correx cage so easier to spray and wipe. When they had their traditional indoor cage with a plastic tray base I used hot water and fairy liquid.

Depends on if you want to give a quick freshen up, or a deep clean to combat pathogens and parasites. Also depends if your piggies ever see their actual floor or not!
I use a cheap pet safe disinfectant floor wipes to give my big C&C a quick wipe down once or twice a week, and in their hay trays where a lot of peeing and eating happens I use Johnson's clean and safe "the green one" twice a week and let them soak for half an hour then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Once every 3 or 4 months or so (or after an infectious illness you would do this) I move the big cage and give a thorough vacuum clean and skirting board disinfectant wipe under and behind the cage, and get busy with the F10 spray!

F10 disinfectant once a week. Johnson's clean and fresh the rest of the time. It's worth checking the prices on line they can vary considerably. It's cheaper to buy the concentrate and dilute it yourself. I bought it in the spray bottle the first time just to get the bottle and now buy the concentrate. I also sometimes clean with vinegar, especially hay trays if they have wee stains in them.

Could you send me the link for the concentrate one?

I don't know whose selling it now it varies, it's a long time since I bought any. I always google it to see where it's cheapest you need to take the postage into account as well. I usually get it somewhere like zooplus, I can get pellets and hay at the same time to get free postage.

Hi all,
I was wondering if there is a direct US alternative to F10? I'm finding it a bit hard to find, other than ordering from the UK. On the forum for cleaning habitat and such, it does say to throw out all wooden toys, but doesn't go into too much on cleaning a wooden enclosure. Any extra advice on using the F10 on a wooden enclosure? I've been reading the site like crazy and loving all of the information!

Thanks in advance

May I ask, what is fairy liquid?

Ok, thanks. I'm trying to clean out a wooden enclosure after a ringworm battle, I'm not sure if vinegar will cut it. That's what I read in the ringworm care guide here.

Ah right, I see. I’m in the UK, so don’t know what alternative would be available in the US.
It might be worth you starting your own new thread on the subject, as we do have plenty of members in the US who may be able to help
