hey guys,

just a quick one, just wondered what would be better for my boars. a 2ft by 8ft cage or a 4ft by 4ft cage.

Not sure if length or width is better.

Thanks

I think it's up to you! Sounds like an amazing size though! They should be very happy! Just make sure you have two of everything for the boys. My cage is only 3 by 5 with a loft, but they still love it! I am sure yours will too!

Sorry to change the subject to me..but do i need 2 of everything if i pair my boar and sow together (when he is neutered ofcourse)

no you probably wont, i feel they would get on quite well together, its only two of everything for boars as they tend to fit more. My two ones have one of everything exept hides.

I don’t think it really matters but I too would prefer a long length cage due to them doing zoomies.

As for your question @Skypipdot you don’t specifically need two of everything for a boar and a sow. I have two of everything for my boar and sow but that’s only because I have a two tier cage so have a food dish both up and downstairs and a water bottle up and downstairs. But I think it’ll be down to the personality of your pigs and whether they can share but they certainly won’t fight over things like boars can

Have you considered an L-shape cage? Just a thought because we have one! Then you can have a little extra hidey room for hay or bedding round the corner...

Theres a good ferplast 160 cage on amazon. Its £95 looks pretty good

Thanks, this is my girls cage. Its almost identical, theirs is just a little smaller. 1 2/3 grids by 6 1/4 girds. 220cm by 60cmIMG_2695.webp
