Hi, I use Aubiose which I am happy with but recently my girls (Mabel in particular) has taken to digging and ripping up the puppy pads from the bottom, no matter how thick I cover it, have chew toys etc. I don't want to use newspaper so wondered what others used to line the bottom of the cage? Thanks,

You could use nothing...I didn't use anything on the bottom when I used disposable bedding inside.

Mine are in a hutch but the principle of bedding is of course the same - I use aubiose with nothing underneath (Used to use newspaper underneath but my supply isn’t as plentiful as it used to be).

Interesting, would this not make them a bit more smelly? Also it might make the cage base not last as long? Open to trying though.

it doesn't make it more smelly because wet areas are still removed daily.

my hutch base is pull out metal trays so not lasting is not an issue for their particular hutch.
two of my rabbits are not yet completely litter trained. their hutch is lined with correx to protect it. again, the bedding is just put directly onto the correx base, wet areas removed daily, disinfected weekly with no issues.

You should make the bedding quite thick in depth. As said above you spot clean and take out any wet parts.
