Cage liner

I just bought a mattress pad that is polyester... there were no cotton ones and cant seem to find any that are reasonable anywhere... will the polyester work? I know probably not as well as cotton i just want to make sure that it will be atleast a little absorbant... thanks!

I use 50% polyester 50% cotton, the 100% polyester ones won't wick the wee away. I did accidently buy the wrong one once and tried it, I use it in the main part of my big C&C cage as they only wee in the corners of that cage where I use vetbed anyway.
