So I have a window that goes in almost like a bay window if that makes sense. I usually almost never have my window blinds actually open. If they are it’s during the morning before the sun is really coming through my window. I want to build a c&c that sits inside of my window and then extends out of my window to give my piggie some more space. Would it be okay for it to be close to the window? It would hardly ever be exposed to sunlight but I’m not sure if that would be okay.

As long as you can keep the sun off and the space remains a consistent temperature, it should be ok? You don’t mind extending the cage actually out of the window do you?

:agr: You also won’t be able to open it really. It would bring in humid heat in summer and cold in winter. Are you planning to get your piggy a friend? They’re highly social and shouldn’t live alone.

My herd of 5 are right next to a window. Their cage also extends to an area of wall away from the window.

You mention a piggie in your post. Do you plan on getting him or her a friend? They really do need company of their own kind.

I’m sure it’s fine having the cage close to the window but do make sure your pigs aren’t exposed to the sun often through it. One of my pigs got bad sunburn on his ears because he enjoyed laying in the sun! My cage isn’t in front of the window anymore.
