Hello,
You may already know me, but my name is Latte, and I am a budding designer! I specialize in cage design, decor, and rearrangement! This is where I will share with you all some of my favorite designs. Feel free to try them out in your own spaces!

Here is my first design that I'll be sharing with you today!

I call this Fortress of Piggitude!
2E5D11CF-1106-42C4-ACF3-2196FB5C6CA2.webp

Notice how the upright positioning of the bendy bridge allows for hiding behind and poking one's nosey out extra cutely. This design also allows for entrance and exit from either side and leaves the outer race track of the cage unimpeded. The water bottle is to the front of the cage, on my right in this picture, so it is only steps from the other entry of the fortress, and as you can see, this fortress design includes its own hay pile!
The niche to the front is an added touch, providing comfort and security but also making the humans less likely to pester you about not being able to see you. The convex curve towards the back also improves the flow in, out, and around the fortress, especially during zoomies.

You may discuss!

Dear Latte

We at the GPU are very impressed at your rearrangement aptitude! We think that your interior design management skills are brilliant. We particularly like the bendy bridge wall fortress and the way that you cleverly incorporate the hay pile.

Yours in awe

I'm sure your all waiting anxiously with mouths full of hay, so without further ado, I give you my next design:

Wooden Hammock:
BD3EC097-7516-40AE-BE18-170E057D609E.webp

While not suspended like a traditional hammock, this is a comfy sleeping spot without being restricting or compromising visibility ... we wouldn't want a human to sneak through without begging! I leave my rump off the back, so the wood stays clean (and that's my favorite piddle corner behind me). This design is also quite entertaining for the awake guinea pig. It will rock gently when one runs through it but remains stable and doesn't require any significant speed reduction while traversing.

The humans cleaned and reset my cage, so it was time to try out one of the plans I'd been thinking up ...

The Duplex!
309C4C7E-798E-4BAE-9A62-1D96AFB18459.webp

In this innovative design, I used preexisting features to essentially create two different hides: an enclosed corner hut and an open-topped cradle. Duplex could work nicely for a pair, though I might recommend two duplexes or the triplex variant in case both piggies want either the enclosed or open-top at the same time.

Here it is again unoccupied:

(Lexa was observing my creativity, though she ultimately decided to keep her throne design.)

My duplex design includes a window to peak out from the enclosed section, and can be hip checked to increase space if it's feeling cramped.

I did decide to add a back run to the design afterwards when I realized it was a bit confining when the NEW hay bag was rustled ...

Duplex 2.0!

@Betsy has outdoor piggies living in hutches, and there’s some amazing shed and hutch housing around the forum.
Maybe Latte would like to check the housing section of the forum.
She may find some willing helpers there

Correction I had outdoor piggies living in a hutch divided into a Penthouse Suite and a Granny Annexe. They are now garage piggies living in Betsy Towers (a hutch divided into a Penthouse Suite and a Granny Annexe.)

I would be honored if the residents of Betsy Towers and/or the GPU had some input based on other housing arrangements. After all, I've only ever lived in an air conditioned indoor cage! I've tried a couple different locations from the foster and shelter to here with my current humans sharing a room with the regal Princess Dustmop (much better company than the shelter had ...).
Lexa points out that I haven't even been more than half an hour from home ... she started out at a shelter more than 2 hours from here!

When Lexi, Thea and Meg wake up in the morning they may well have some input. Its been so hot in the last few days they have only been snoozing away so it may take a couple of cooler days so they aren't so lazy with the heat.

Dear Latte

I have had to use some photos of the old inhabitants of Betsy Towers in helping you with hutch rearrangements (although Shy Little Meg does feature in one and she is still with us) as Thea and I have only been living in a hutch less than a year so still have much to learn!

You can just use the hutch for posing so no rearrangements needed there.

Here is RB Piggy Silver Fox Christian showing his best side.

and here is Christian's brother RB Piggy Cutey Pie Dennis displaying just how cute he was with his wife pig The Ever Beautiful Betsy gazing lovingly at him.

You can also take down the ramp between the top and the bottom of the hutch to confuse the other residents just for a laugh! Here is Shy Little Meg wondering why she's still at the bottom of the hutch with the RB Piggy Ever Beautiful Betsy.

Refuse to use the lovely snuggle tunnels your Slave has lovingly made/spent a fortune on and build a hay nest instead as demonstrated by RB Piggy The Ever Beautiful Betsy.

I hope that helped with the hutch rearrangements a bit.

Yours in admiration of your cage rearrangement skills.

Oooo ... that hay nest is exquisite!

I must try that out ... if I can remember not to eat it during the creation process. I've heard stories of one of the past piggies who lived here that was an expert hay diver. Lexa says she never met her either, just the stories. I bet she could have crafted something special like that.

So I did try out Lexa's idea, but it was challenging running through the bowl and tunnel, so I moved the bridge back off of the bowl.

I also tried this out ...

The Alcove:
15DBD10E-AE32-41CF-AC65-7F8B60A31705.webp

I was going for a sort-of half covered style, though the humans thought it was somewhat unstable ... I probably shouldn't have set it up right in front of the cage door. My designs can't all be perfect ...

Now that the human has figured out these videoes, I can also share with you all how I rearranged my floor space ...
First of all, towels are not for piddling on ... they should be moved to keep the towel clean; the human will go get something to clean the floor ...
And then if you're feeling really ambitious, you can move the pen, too!

Dear Latte,
We live in a hutch and find that the most satisfying rearrangement technique is to redistribute the hay pile to build a wall to hide behind, and bury our empty food bowl. It confuses our slave every time!
Our favourite of your designs so far is the "alcove" - we tried this with our cardboard box tunnel last week when we were at our summer residence for a few days and it gave the space a completely different ambience.
Looking forward to seeing more of your designs!
