hi all

I'm picking my boys up tomorrow. They are twelve weeks and need to be rehomed.

Does my cage set up look ok? There is lots of hay under the platform as this is the way they are used to sleeping at present. I have fleece snuggle sacks coming soon.

There will be another bowl for food as will take from their previous owner.

Is there anything else I need?

I don't really know what the bright colour toy/chew is as I got it new as part of a bundle. Is it safe and should I hang it up?

Thanks in advance.

Ps I know the ramp/stairs looks stupidly high but I saw on past threads the pigs jump up there?

Pls) there is hay under the platform and hay in the hay rack plus a water bottle. Xx

Ooh, exciting times! I can't see any water bottles in your picture, are they waiting to be filled?
Hi!

I have one on the cage by the hay rack - you can't see in this picture. Should I have two? I have actually bought two?

I have a 140x70cm cage similar with the platform except I ripped the front piece off as I would never be able to see if one of the piggies was sick or be able to spot clean under it, I replaced it with a fleece curtain. I no longer use it anymore but when I did have it in the cage the piggies used to just jump up there and watch me make their meals. That was the only time they ever used it except for their zoomies too.

If yours are anything like mine, (i have the same cage at the minute :D ) they will spend a lot of time under the platform.
It does however look great (but wont be for long :P )

Welcome to the forum btw :D

I have two, mainly because I'm worried that one will fall off and they won't have a drink! I'm rubbish at attaching them to the cage though, I need to buy some springs instead of using the stupid bit of wire they supply.

Thank you!

They are spending a fair bit of time under the platform. Did you keep the side on or put a fleece curtain in?

I think I may replace the platform in time too. They used to have it in their cage in their old house so thinking they may like it to start with. Do you use the fleece curtain without the platform altogether? Thanks xx

Nah I've left it on, they seem to like it being there or hiding inside their tube. Gotta say though the steps on that panel are useless as they just jump onto it anyway.
Its only temporary though, while I construct and get all the bits for their upgrade :D

Those coloured type things are designed to be hung on the cage side, all my hamsters have got one. They roll them, walk across them, chew them, they get enormous playtime out of them. But giving them to piggies, sorry I haven't got a clue. Look them up on a website or pet shop.
