Hi guys,

I was reccommended a ferplast 120 way back on this site, which my 2 boys lived merrily in (they also have a run).

However when I now look this up t looks to be too small!

Would a ferplast 120 pass a home check? I now only have one pig, and need to get him a friend so trying to work out if I need to expand...

My flat is very small so I'm not sure what else I could do really! @)

hi i was thinking the same as i moving to a very very small temp place , i have seen where you can get 2 cages on top of each other so they have 2 floors but then double space for them ,i dont know if this would be any good .

For my piggies (two boars) indoors I have two Ferplast 120's but I have joined them along the shorter ends and removed the end panels so that they end up with a good 2 metre run which is still nice and secure for when I go out. They are easily able to jump from one cage into the other and enjoy racing each other up and down. Not sure if you've got room for this option or what a home visitor would make of it?

My pigs are also given free run of the garden in the day and free run of the kitchen when I leave the cage open when I'm at home.

This is what our run looks like.

120cm is the recommended for two guinea pigs.

Having a two storey cage doesn't really make up much more space as in guidelines at least one level should meet minimum size requirements, and with two story cage's by the time the ramps and holes for levels are in, overall there isn't much floor space.

120, is the minimum, so some people will have a 140 etc. if they have the space/money available.

See I also have a garden which is not secured by a fence, so I don't think that would pass either even tho they are indoor pigs and will never live out in the garden!

Argh!

Oh I see what you've done yeah! I don't have the length for 2 cages tho...

I can go c&c, but I'm worried they'll not like my garden now even tho the pigs don't live in it.

If they are indoor pigs will they fuss about outdoors?

NEGPR didnt for me, my yard is useless in terms of piggies living space.

a ferplast 120 should meet most rescues minimums, though the 140 is a much nicer amount of space :-)

They won't ask to see an outdoor run? I mean he has one, but it's used indoors... I'd never have him out on my grass unsupervised but I guess they'd not believe that...
