My son was given a trio of male guinea pigs. They came with a cage that is about 2 ft x 4 feet. They never fight and seem to be happy for the most part. My son takes them out for a couple hours a day. I'm wondering if this is a big enough cage. Right now I don't have the money to buy a new cage, but I could start saving if I have to.

No it is not big enough. Your best option would be a c and c cage as no ready made cage is enough for three boars. I would make it at least 3 by 6. Boar trios rarely work. Once the boars hit teenage years they often fall out. I hope it works for you.

You could add a run to it.If you fancy a c&c there is plastic coated grids on eBay vonhaus interlocking storage, cheaper than metal grids. If it is on the floor you can get ground sheets in the pound shop then put incontinence pads then fleece.Good luck. The quicker you get them in a bigger space the less likely a fall out.Good luck with them

Hello! How old are your boars? Are they indoor or outdoor? A 4ft by 2ft is the rspca recommended minimum for two pigs. You could extend your cage by adding a run using grids or puppy panels and removing the front door so they can hop.in or out or if they are outdoor pigs you could go for a very large rabbit hutch.

The are a little over a year old. It's just a cage that I bought at a pet shop, they stay in my four year olds room. I'm not sure if having a c and c cages would be a good idea because my son and cat would get in it.

That's a brilliant bargain sportbilly!
I have ordered from that retailer for cages and they were very good!
i cant use c+c cages either as i have a toddler and ad dog.

Little pet warehouse are brilliant I can't fault them the cages are better made then ferplast, metals stronger and doesn't peel. They dispatch fast and problems resolved straight away, courier broke my base and they sent another out in 24 hours :)
