So with getting the boys a brand new cage i want to spoil them to some new toys for it aswell. at the moment they dont really have toys in their cage as i dont feel there is enough room for this and their beds(they are in a 120cm cage and have corner hammocks and a house etc) and so their toys are for free range time.

However the new cage will have plenty of room for their usual stuff, plus some more beds and toys and just wanted recommendations of toys people use actually in the cages?

same here they also like them wooden knaw blocks my scruffy picks his up and throws it lol

i feel awwfull my piggie dont have toys not even for play time :( they have a woden pair haning off the cage but thats it

i might make some tubes they might like, i will have a hink oh dear looks like i am gunna have bored piggies

My boys love their tubes, they have one each, one from Tesco (it was on offer at some crazy low price!) and one is a Chube from Pets At Home.

Fry also has a little ball with a bell in it that he goes crazy for, although I don't think this is universal to all piggies, because Dexter seems to be scared of them!

I try to put different wooden toys they can chew in every now and again, the variety stops them getting bored and it's good for their teeth too!

Mine are the same - the boys love their ball & are aways pushing it round but the girls ignore theirs!

Thankyou everyone. they do like the tubes during free range, we have one of those snugglesafe rabbit warrens set up with the interchange and 3 tubes attached so might get them a chube for in their cage too.

Just wondered if anyone has ever used a rollin the hay for their pigs? been thinking of getting one, especially as il be keeping them on vetbed in the new cage and it may minimise the amount of hay actually getting onto the bedding. wondered if they would manage it ok though?

they do have treat sticks etc sometimes too, just wondered about more permanent sort of "fixtures" in the cage.

Mine just love brown paper bags stuffed with hay, they play in it and chew it and I just throw it away when its had it! I get the brown bags to recycle food from my council but give them to the guineas :)) Pampered piggies does them too though. We get point of sale cardboard tubes and cut them to size, they are free if you are cheeky enough to ask in a store, phone shops often have nice big ones. I have a pic of Daisy Boo on my phone and say its for her :))

The treat sticks are bad for them as full of sugar, you could look at www.thehayexperts.co.uk as they have good ones designed for rabbits but most are good for pigs too.

My piggies love tubes and also these stick things from P@H which they love chewing.

my piggies have evry toy under the sun but soon get tired after a few days! they have all different type and textures of play veg, balls with bells. loufar balls, willow toys etc.. (must add not all at once) but they last five minutes and that is it. The things they never grow tired are "chubes" which are really cheap at wilkinsons I think like 1.47 or something when are 2.55 @ P@h. also they seem to like a rabbit bed I got them it is massive so is only for play time & is made of furfabric.

P@H have an offer on a lot of their pink stuff can't think what is it called pampered pets maybe? anyway I got them some sweeties which are wood blocks covered in paper like sweets for them to unrap and were only about £1 they loved unwrapping them & now just sit nibbling them. They have holes too so you could thread on string afterwards to make a new toy!

At minute also the long furry run tube things are also on offer (only the black ones though from 9.99 to 4.88 I got one today but will **** break it out at the weekend for them).

x

Thanks for the replies, still on the lookout for some toys i think the boys would use. il be placing an order on hammocky hammocks for them tonight too.

When i say treat sticks, i meant those ones in the natural range from PAH. and they honestly only get one every few months as a treat to nibble on anyway lol

Those balls with the bells in, had plenty before and as far as i can remember they have always been ignored by both the pigs and the bunniesrolleyesthey are impossible! lol

I never know really what to get as I dont see them playing with a huge amount...they love the hay racks, and the tubes...I have a willow ball in each cage and mineral block that they nibble on. Kes has got a dangley wooden chew - but to be honest I just put it in there cuz it looked nice :))
