Is a cage wall length of 12(31 cm) inches enough? I'm making a C&C cage and I'm using the C&AHOME see-through plastic cubes for the sides and adding C&AHOME grids for the bottom so it'll be a foot in the air. I'm afraid that my guinea pig may be able to jump out, would he be able to jump over 12 inches(31 cm)?
Also, My grids are one foot each(31 cm) so I was thinking of making it 3 grids wide(92 cm) instead of two(61 cm), so it's not too thin. If I make it 5 feet(152 cm) long would that be too short for two male guinea pigs? would it be better to make it 2 feet(61 cm) wide and 7 or 8 feet(213 or 244 cm) long? I want them to have enough space to run around.

In theory a piggy won’t try to get out of grids 12 inches high but it is piggy dependent - most wouldn’t ever try it, but some might.

A lot of c&c grids are actually 14 inches rather than 12 inches - so what that means in terms of your cage with slightly smaller grids is that you would be looking at them needing a cage which is 6 grids by 2 grids (12 square feet) but 5 grids by 3 grids would also work and comes out bigger at 15 square feet.
Boar pairs need 12 square feet.

(You will see the cage size guide on here refers to boars needing a 5 grid by 2 grid cage but that is when the grids are the bigger and more commonly used 14 inch grids.)

My cage sides are 30cm high, pepper can climb up and put his paws on top of the front of it but I don’t think he could pull his bottom up, but i knew that when I made the cage, a friend of mine boards pigs and I’ve been shocked by the strength of some of her escape artists!
As you can see from the picture below he can get his head out 🫣
