Hi, my piggies are around 4 months old and I see calcium marks on their fleece a lot. Reading some of the other threads about calcium, I'm confused about whether or not this is a problem? At the moment I'm feeding them Burgess excel pellets, meadow hay, timothy hay and a selection of veggies like peppers, cucumber, celery, carrot, broccoli and occasionally a small amount of fruit. I live in a soft water area, so there shouldn't be much calcium in their water. Should I cut down on their pellets or switch them to a different kind? I don't want them to end up having too little calcium when they're growing.

@kitabird If you rub the white spots on the fleece between your fingers is it gritty or powdery?

Powdery is fine. Gritty means that they need to reduce calcium intake.

@Jaycey I've just checked and it's powdery. Is it not a sign that their diet is too high in calcium though and could cause problems in the future?
