Hi, just noticed a fairly large lump just above a female piggies wee opening. With pressure, it appears to nearly half its size but and many come out with more pressure, but this is very painful for her. What do I do? Currently have her in some warm water to try and loosen it.

All I can suggest at the moment is to take her to the vets. I hope she will be ok, I don't have girls so have no idea what this is.

Please have her checked by a vet who can hopefully manipulate them out, if necessary with a small cut. Urethral stones are not uncommon; they often are washed down from the bladder, but then get stuck just before the exit. Please also have your girl checked for more stones in the bladder (ideally by an x-ray).

Thanks @Wiebke - I read on the Peter Gurney website that they can be palpitated out in smaller cases with some lubrication and fortunately this worked. She is inside on towels now to monitor her for longer but is cheery and eating/pooping.

Also since this has been done, does she need any specific aftercare? The area looks a lot better but obviously a little inflamed. No blood has come out although as the stone came out I could see that inside was quite red and possibly a little bleedy.

She will need an antibiotic and some pinkiller/anti-inflammatory like metacam.
