Hello Californians!
As you know, there are some horrible fires raging in multiple places in California. I live about an hour away from the NoCal fires and it is HORRIBLE over here. The smoke has settled in our valley and looks like fog. All of the schools in our area have closed down as students have been passing out and there isn't more than 800 ft of visibility. If you live anywhere near one of the fires, PLEASE check this website to find out what the air quality is in your area: https://airnow.gov/ If it it says your area is in the orange section or if the air smells AT ALL like smoke, please keep your piggies and other animals indoors!

This is the air quality index we are using. Right now, our area is fluctuating between "UNHEALTHY" and "VERY UNHEALTHY".

It must be very frightening for all of you. We keep hearing about it on the news over here in the UK. What we hear about is always the bad news about how many people have been found who have lost their lives in the wild fires over there. My thoughts are with you all.

The smoke is horrible, kids are off school tomorrow and we are all staying indoors.
I worry about my horse being out in this and pray for wind/rain to clear it out of the valley.

I’ve been watching this and hoping and praying that no more human or animal lives are lost. I saw a terribly sad video of a poor rabbit who’d had its ears, nose and eyes burnt. He was being syringe fed by a vet nurse. I have been very impressed by the support animals have had over there.

I wish I could do something to help and just hope things improve for,you. You are all in my thoughts.

I just read something that Northern California has the worst air quality in the world right now. There are so many people losing their lives and homes. Right now, there are around 600 or 700 missing people and the death toll is about 71. Many people from my school have family members whose houses have burned down. Also, there are thousands of animals misplaced and injured animals and are in need of housing and food.
