Anything else, you want to call us, & we hold our hands to it all.
We have 10 piggies & we have loved & cared for each one. Yesterday we had to visit the vet with Molly. So far we have had ,3 consultations with the vets only because one got it wrong so with today's bill & possible ultrasound. The bill has come to £180, unfortunately this is stretching our finances. & we also have to have treatment for her Ovarian Cysts. I'm disabled & my husband is my carer. So we have to cut down. We want to offer them to someone on here who will love them too.We have to cut our herd to from 10 to 6 with possibly a further cut down from 6 to 4. God this is so hard, & I'm crying all the time. God I'm such an idiot, & this is all our fault.
 
Hi @Tiamolly123 no your non of what you have said. I myself have 9 guinea's, I'm disabled and my son is my carer, I also am short of money and having to get a loan to pay for two of my girls treatment, one had possible ovarian cysts and the other has confirmed ovarian cysts, I also have a boar with a very strange weight problem, eating all of the time but his weight is very up and down and he now feels boney. I am concerned I am not giving the girls the care they need so I have also been considering rehoming them when I've gotten them sorted out.

I think what you're doing is very responsible, your admitting you cannot cope unlike some people.

I hope you manage to find someone to take them for you, try not to worry about what people say, most of the people on these forums are very understanding and will try and help you if they can.
 
I am sorry to hear this. You are not an idiot at all and it is not your fault. It is an awful situation to be in. You have realized that you are struggling and are addressing that issue now for the sake of your piggies, that is brave of you.

I would suggest contacting your local rescues and explaining the situation

I'd call you responsible actually, you're looking out for your piggies best interests even if it breaks your heart. It's not your fault and I'm so sorry you have to go through this.

If I lived closer I would offer to adopt a baby or two, sorry I can't be much help.

Never irresponsible when you have the best interests of you pets at heart. I know how you feel, I had to rehome all 16 of my pigs 18 months ago due to situations at home, its awful but putting the pigs best interests in front of mine was the only thing I could do. *huge hugs*
 
It takes huge courage and responsibility to recognise when you are out of your depth (physical, emotional, financial). Hugs to you x.
It would be best to surrender to a rescue or to rehome to safe homes. This is a very difficult time for rescues. Almost all are full or on clampdown as the Christmas clear out is well and truly underway with people dumping piggies right left and centre and most rescues refusing to rehome pets in the run up to Christmas (for welfare reasons). The best thing to do is to make contact with your nearest rescues and ask them if you can go on their waiting list when they have space again in the New Year. Most do run waiting lists and will want to help you out.
 
Honey this is not your fault at all many people would not do what you've gone and actually admit that you're struggling they would've just blinded them sells the fact that you couldn't care for the guinea pigs so older guinea pigs would end up getting sick or dying and I know it's difficult because you have a bond with them but I respect you as an owner because you're standing up to the plate and actually saying I can't cope and that takes guts
