Hi Ive seen people on here mentioning Calpol for piggys at 0.2ml twice a day.
Does it have to be the Calpol brand or any kind of Infant Paracetamol?

I know some people on here use calpol...
But please don't... If your piggy needs pain relief then take it to the vets and get something like metacam...
Calpol can seriously damage a guinea pigs organs... I personally wouldn't run the risk...

Hey, can't answer the dossage question I'm affraid....

If one of your piggies needs pain medication though - they really need to see a vet, the vet can give them a painkiller like metacam. Should they need it the vet can dispense some for you to bring home....

On a seperate note the piggies in you profile avatar picture are gorgeous. I hope that whoever is unwell recovers soon.

The vet gave us Metacam for one of our girls because it looked like she was having some discomfort in her mouth-it seems to be doing the trick.:)

Thank you. Its my male (The piggy on the left) he seems a bit under the weather. Hes still eating, but just not his usual self. I think I'll wait and see how he is tomorrow, and if hes still the same I'll book him into the vets.

I would absolutely 100% ask people here NOT to give out DIY medication doses. No vet I know would EVER advocate the use of paracetamol as an analgesic as even the smallest overdose can cause serious irreversible damage to their internal organs.

If your guinea pig is ill the first port of call should ALWAYS be the vet, not a child's medicine cabinet.
