Jeff, Cameo and Maggie are currently living as a very happy trio after Big Dabe was PTS recently.

Maggie's breathing problems have come back again, and after she went a funny shade of blue last time, I wasn't taking any risks. They all went to work over the weekend so her breathing could be monitored.

I worked Saturday, all pigs were fine. I worked Sunday, all fine again. It was quiet on Sunday (very rate!) so I decided to give cameo a hair cut. I got her out of the kennel...and there was this "thing"! It looked like a prolapse, but it wasn't her bladder (could feel that) and it wasn't her uterus as she doesn't have one, so we had no idea what it was!

Trip to the emergency vet on Sunday afternoon shed no light on what it was, lots of scratching heads - possibly a tumour or a polyp? They kept her in over night and did manage to reduce it back down.

Maggie had an appointment for more investigations on Monday, so she gave up her slot to cameo who had surgery to remove the "thing". It was quite a quick op as it was just attached by a small stalk, to the neck of her bladder. It's been sent off for analysis to identify what it is.

She came home today and is doing great; active, talkative and eating well!

Will keep you posted on the pathology report!

Oh gosh poor babies. I really thought Maggie would be fine now. Wonder what that was with cameo. Good luck little ones.

I am very sorry for your scare! I hope that both girls will be fine again!

Oh bless her, Glad she is recovering well from the op, will be interesting to know what it was that appeared so quickly!

How is Maggies Breathing now then?

xx

So glad you caught it quickly and that Cameo is recovering now. Lots of healing vibes to her. Hope Maggie is okay too x

Maggies breathing started up in the early hours of the morning again...she's booked in for more investigations on Monday

How is Maggie today? Still breathing okay? Hope Cameo is doing well.

Everyone is well today thanks! We had a critical care feeding frenzy to make sure they all got their fit C requirements....arguments of the syringe between jeff and Maggie!

Oh how weird! All the best for a speedy and neat recovery! Poor little peach! x

Do let us know what the biopsy says! It will be hugely helpful information for referance!

Oh No! - just caught up with this thread as 3 of my piggies have been vet bound (plus a snapped front tooth on another) - after all the hassell you and poor Cameo had last year!

Had cameos lumpy-thing-analysis back. It was endometrial hyperplasia. It seems that there's still some ovarian tissue in her abdomen after her spay, which has caused hormonal changes which affected the stump that was left by her cervix, which caused it to grow, and eventually prolapse.

The good news is, that its not badness, obviously! She could have hormonal problems in the future, but its a case of wait and see I think!
