So I have a really bad flu, I feel like I've been hit by a very large bus and I can't stop coughing, (pretty sure I'm close to coughing up a lung) as the piggies are in my room with me I was a bit worried that they could maybe catch something?

Sorry if this is a ridiculous question but I had a look online and some say it's posible and some say no so I have no idea...

I always refer to previous threads in cases like this.

Here is a thread to refer to ...

Can Guinea Pigs Catch A Human's Common Cold?

So, basically , the viruses that cause colds and flu are species specific and Guinea Pigs can't catch them.

However , it 's wise to be careful and I would always recommend handling your guinea pigs as little as possible when you are ill and be extra vigilant in washing your hands before handling them , feeding them or spot cleaning.

I hope you feel better soon .

Thank you. I was just worried about them being in my room with all the coughing I'm doing. But I always have a window open a bit for ventilation:nod:
