Can a Wood Hutch cause Allergies in Pigs?

I know it's a strange question...

I highly doubt this is why my guinea pig, Walnut, is having sniffles as her Mom was having them before we changed their hutch... but you never know.

My husband built a beautiful hutch for my pigs out of pine wood. Could this cause a pig allergies? After he made it we washed it to get rid of the dust particles.

Lulu May, Walnut's Mom, doesn't have sniffles anymore but now Walnut does.
