Hi all my 2 boys Dave and Derek have always got along they have never been the follow each other around cuddle up at night piggies but they do get along just fine but I've noticed the last few days they seem to be spending lots of time laying together or snoozing next to each other they have never done this before now I know I'm probably over thinking all this and it' probbly them getting older (they are 2 1/2 yrs old) it's just worried me a bit today that something might be wrong. They are both eating fine drinking fine no weight loss pop corning around and wheeking so I deffo think I'm over reacting but just wanted a bit of advice/ reassurance please TIA X

If you are unsure of their change in behaviour a vet check wouldn't go amiss. As long as they are eating, drinking and not losing any weight they are probably fine.

Agree with @Betsy.
My vet told me on one visit she would rather see a healthy animal with an anxious owner than an animal who came to her too late.
Your boys may just be growing up and settling with each other but peace of mind for you is important

Totally agree with this. I seem to be living at my vets lately, but would rather be classed as anxious or overly protective, than not go and have possible regrets if something wasn't right at a later point.

Thank you I'm probably over reacting but I've never seen them this close before and I've had them since they were 4 months old as I said they are completely fine in themselfs this is the only behaviour change I have noticed although Derek was treated for hair loss 2 weeks or so ago and was on meds for that and Dave seemed to know he wasn't feeling to great could it be that Derek being unwell has bonded them even more now but think I will get them in for a vet check just to be sure x

Took my boys to the vet yesterday all good both boys are healthy vet isn't worried he said they are probably just bonded even more after Derek illness. A weight off my mind phew so I can look forward to lots of cuteness with my boys all cuddled up together thank you all for your advice and help x

Ahhh I’m so glad both boys are healthy & well. It’s lovely that they’re enjoying each other’s company & have such a strong bond.
Well done boys x

I'm glad everything went well and the boys are fine. Now you can relax and enjoy them even more.

Glad they’re alright! As for your initial question I definitely think pigs can tell if their cagemaye is poorly. When my pinky has bloat and mild stasis, his late mate spike licked his face and stayed near him a lot. It took a long time for them to bond properly, but pinky being poorly definitely made them closer.

Fab news! :luv: Its lovely when two boys are so closely bonded like these two are :luv:
