hi my guinea pig has been out in her run now for a bout 4 hours and she hasn't done any poos ! she normally does loads just wondering if there was something i could do or help her to go again .

Have you taken her inside and are watching her or is she still out?

Is her belly bloated - feeling really tight and springy and painful? Has she stopped eating and drinking?

yeah shes back in her cage and shes been eating and drinking all day and is actually eating as we speak haha . her belly seems fine , squidgy i suppose is the word. just went to check on her and she has actually done one poo , so i think i spoke to soon . but still not like her to do only one . do guinea pigs get constipated ? and thanks for quick reply x

They can get constipated (usually very big, painful poos; straining when pooing), can get bloat, blockages and twisted guts like we do (the latter three fatal, if not treated asap).

Here is a link to the Peter Gurney health website: http://www.oginet.com/pgurney/bloat.htm

I am glad that your girl is fine and will hopefully make more poos after she's eaten!

thanks :) and yes she has done more ...nice subject to talk about!

Glad to hear she seems to be doing okay now. Plenty of roughage (hay) and a good water intake should encourage healthy poops!
