Hi all, I am relatively new to the forum and hope theres some wise piggy lovers out there to give me some advice on how best i can introduce my two pairs of sows.

Matilda and Shelby 10 months old now and very close, and Dorothy and Sophie are babies at 7weeks old.

Their cages are next to each other and they do squeak and wheek at each other close by but as yet I havent introduced them 'face to face'

Am i best to wait until the babies are a bit bigger to introduce them?

thanks for looking!

I'm not real experienced on introducing sows... I think maybe wait till the babies are a bit older... Also with introducing them I think its just normal... one-by-one introduce them then introduce in groups... make sure its on a neautral ground... like the lounge room or somthing... and watch out for fights of agresive behavior :)
I'm pretty sure thats how yoy do it but I could be wrong... hope this helped :)

Depending on where the babies came from I would make sure they are quarantined first. Introduce in neutral territory such as on a couch (this works best for my lot) and only once you're happy with how they're behaving put them in the cage together. The cage MUST be cleaned out thoroughly as it will be your original pigs' territory and smell like it! I don't see any need to introduce them one-by-one unless one shows more aggression than the other. Have a read of http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm

Oh cool :) I got it mostly right ;D
I always thought it was best to introduce them in groups.... but I can see that a group meeting would be best if theyre not too agressive :)
