i feed my sows on oxbow cavy cuisine as its lower in calcium and helps manage my sows Bladder issues, as well as being good for fudge who has compromised kidneys (assumed). I only have a very small amount left and my hay experts order has been delayed for another 5 days. I free feed my pellets due to having a poorly heart failure sow thats needs the extra food, and i wont have enough to last me until tomorrow let alone 5 days. Does anyone know where i can buy this food in glasgow and surrounding areas? Google hasnt helped :( failing that, is there anyone near by that could loan me a couple of bowls full that i will replace on the 5th? I hate to ask but changing my girls pellets will really affect their health, especially since my cystitis girl is just overcoming a flare up after a family member gave her pak choi (high in calcium!). Thank you

does your bladder piggy have free fed oxbow aswell? it does contain some ingredients that are meant to be worse for bladder piggies, like limestone and calcium carbonate. (i think carbonate) - someone told me when mollie was on them and started with her issues. apologies if you already know, and of course every piggy is different, but thought i'd mention just incase :)

I didnt know that actually! She still has flare ups but no where near as frequent.. And is managed with what veg she eats too. She was on limited pellets before when fudge was seperate (she was very ill and the other 2 where bullying her.) but she recovered and lived with them again so i had to have unlimited pellets for everyone. I will consider the pellets being a potential cause if she has another flare up even with her bladder veg diet.i have burgess and vitakraft in containers but i dont want to start adding them in and cause potential gut problems too :(

it's annoying because overall they are a better pellets, being timothy hay based. but those ingredients are quite worrying. mollie was taken off pellets completely by the vet but now her issues are under better control, she has a very tiny amount of vitakraft. more of a treat really after her meds and they seem to suit her much better. i have to hand feed veg now because mollie is on low calcium but benjie isn't so i need to make sure they get the right things. and then make sure mollie only gets a tiny piece of vitakraft but benjie has a couple of extra bits. hard when they live together but have different needs isn't it. hope you can work something out.

it could be that the oxbow are fine and suit her well. if you've noticed a change for the better then they could be fine. x
