I want to ask if someone have any idea what this is causing (I am attaching a photo), because according to the doctors the cause is shavings which is contaminated and when the guinea pig scratches herself, the skin become sore. But I notice that it happens to her for the second time after antibiotic treatment.received_232546731420705.webp

Hi, I would suggest sending the photo to your vet for a proper diagnosis.. You could try and change the bedding to see if that helps?

It could be either mites or ringworm, some of my previous piggies had both. I hope he/she gets better!

The vet didn't chek her for mites. What is this test for mites, because my vet didn't tell me anythibg about this.
A decent vet should be able to see if your piggie has mites or a fungal skin condition with a skin scape. Are their any other vets near you that are a little more piggie savy x

It's just so hard to tell from a photo... I hope you get to the bottom of it
