I adopted two 1year-old boar piggies two weeks ago and I found this on one of my piggy, it's right above the anus, probably where the grease gland is. It was like a white hard bump which bleeds as you can see when i tried to remove it with a tissue. I'm very new to guinea pigs, does anyone know what this, and what should I do?

Welcome to the forum

Please have him seen by a vet, there could be an infection/abscess going on with the grease gland. Please don’t try to remove any of this yourself as it could be painful for him.

As a forum we are unable to diagnose anything and we don’t recommend home treatments - legally only a vet can diagnose and treat - as they can do more harm than good.

In the meantime switch to emergency home care as pain/illness/injury can make them not eat enough hay. Hay intake cannot be judged by eye so we recommend to switch to daily weight checks (from the routine weekly weight checks) during a period of illness so you can more closely monitor and step in with syringe feeding quickly if necessary.

Let us know how you get on at the vet. I hope he is ok

Hello and welcome to the forum. I’m sorry your piggy is poorly. Good luck at the vets. I hope it’s something easily treatable.

Yes, a vet visit is definitely called for. Good luck, I hope the outcome is good 🙏

Good luck at the vets- are your piggies well in themselves otherwise?
Are you based in the UK? If so, there is a list of really good guinea pig vets here: Recommended Guinea Pig Vets

You've obviously got a good eye for your piggies to spot a problem so quickly. :)
