My pig Sundae has been through the wars in this past year (chronic bladder issues, followed by dental issues that culminated in a huge abscess on her jaw that went all the way down to the muscle.) She had several dentals, an abscess lancing and draining, and plenty of followup irrigation and debridement of the wound. She is now doing very, very well, is eating normally, is back to her usual weight, and the wound on her face is 99% healed. Through it all, my vet and the office staff have been awesome- phoning to check on her, giving me a couple of complimentary followups because the vet felt that I had paid enough already, as well as giving me a lot of hands on help in learning how to mix my own antibiotics so I could buy the component parts in bulk and save money and giving me hands on help in how I should be treating the wound. My last pig passed away from a facial abscess, I was with a different practice there and can see now that the care she received there was not half as good as the care that Sundae has received with the current vet. I think Sundae would have died too had she not gotten the care she got here. I would love to give them a thank you card and a small gift to show them my appreciation the next time I have to go in to pick up her antibiotics. Can anyone think of a good gift for a vet's office- something that they might find useful? They treats dogs and cats and birds and lizards as well as small exotics. Is there anything you can think of that would serve as a good donation to their practice on behalf of Sundae and I?
