Hi everyone! :) While I was cutting grass for Gilbert, I found these:

but I'm not sure if Gilbert can have them. They look a lot like the stuff in his timothy hay - except fresh. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to take any risks. Thank you all. xx

I just wanted to add that I just found out these aren't the stuff in his timothy hay. In May, I actually DID find the stuff in his timothy hay (fresh) in my yard. I took some pictures. They looked like this: (a bit different from the ones I found today in my yard)

They look like grass seed heads, which if they are, he can eat them. I wouldn't like to say for certain though from a photo.

My guinea pigs have eated both of those sorts of grass and quite liked them!

Thanks :) I just want a couple more opinions before I decide. In the end I might not even give it to him. Don't want to take the risk.

He can eat any grain - they are part of the grass family. Too many seedheads regularly will make him fat, but is a lovely occasional treat!
