Can guinea pigs be moved to another country in the EU?

I am curious, has anyone ever moved from the UK to another EU country with their piggies? What kind of certificates etc would you need? I dont think you have to put them in quarantine or anything like that do you?

(I'm not planning it, I'm at uni for two more years at least - just wondered what the protocol is!) x

Contact DEFRA, they are the people in the know about all things animals & transportation etc.

Ah ha, finally I will know if I can pignap Oz and US piggies without too much red tape
In all seriousness though, I have wondered about this myself. I got the idea that they didn't have to be quarantined, but I couldn't find too much information to be honest.
