Can guinea pigs catch human colds because I'm panicking!

I have had a sore throat, headache and sneezes recently, and Lo Lo started sneezing when I picked him up.
It may sound like nothing, but Darwins first symptoms were if him sneezing.
He's still lively luckily and he's currently licking my face.
I was just panicking a bit.
Please could you put my mind at rest (if he's OK)

He's lost hair behind his ear too!

Am sure others will be on here soon - when they have lost hair it could be fungal or mites - I would check out the guinealynx website under illnesses until someone more experienced comes on.

Guinea pigs cannot catch the human cold and secondly all guinea pigs have a bald spot behind their ears, as to how noticeable this is can depend on fur type. I hope this helps but if your pig doesn't stop sneezing, has runny eyes or nose then please take them to a vet as this can be a sign of a respiratory infection which can be fatal if left untreated
