I know Guinea pigs are not big climbers like hamsters etc. But would they be able to climb out of a c and c cage grid, one grid high.
I only ask this question because if they could go out it would be a worry as they can escape anywhere. Also mainly because when they stand up on there two legs waiting for food their heads are almost out ! I don't think it should be a worry ?

It’s going to be piggy dependent - some just wouldn’t, but others might!

They could jump up on a hidey house roof and jump/climb over (so obviously you would need to position hidey houses away from the edges of the cage); boys have been known to climb over c&c grids to get to females in the same room; some may just experiment!

I’ve got one piggy who does jump onto the hut roof and is quite agile so there is a risk that he could get out, and the other piggy wouldn’t ever consider leaving the ground for any reason! So, mine is two grids high

Yes we are 2 grids high too, our Piggle is a climber and jumper and so surprisingly is our big old floofy girl Jezzy- and our skinny pig girl does try to climb the bars like a hamster! But we have others like chubby little Blodwen who are definite ground hogs and struggle to climb over the inch high side of the hay trays :)
