I read a recipe on this forum, that said to poor boiling water on bran and wait for it to turn to mush. It said to put oats in the mush if you can.

Can guinea pigs eat too much oats?

I was thinking about making them up some treats, trying different things out, so this thread is mainly for that. If anyone has any recipes that their piggies enjoy, please post!

I used to feed them porridge oats when I ran out of food (or weetabix, and some veggies too) but oats you buy in supermarkets are nearly always steamed I think. And I just felt wrong feeding my pigs cooked food . . . even though I'm sure their dry guinea pig food is cooked? Anyway, they seemed to like the oats and they never caused any problems.

I wonder if you buy oats for horses are they cooked?
