Can guineas catch shingles?

Excuse my ignorance but I've just been diagnosed with shingles (woe is me) just a bit nervous about passing on anything to the guineas, in particular Gladys who has a middle ear infection.

Any information would be great x

Poor you!

Not that I know of. Thankfully, most illnesses don't cross the species barriers. Just use your common sense and hygiene.

I hope that you get over it quickly.

I'm not sure, however it is always advised not to handle or come into close contact with your pets when you ae unwell, i.e wash your hands before handling food etc. So until you know for sure avoid contact. Howeveri hope you make a speedy recovery.

as far as i know piggies cant catch it, i had it a few months ago and i believe the only way for humans to catch it from each other is skin contact and sharing clothes/towels etc.
