Can I leave my piggy (almost) alone for a night?

I'm going on a week long trip and I plan to take her with me (We go in the family car and she IS family lol) but we also plan to cross the border for just one night (I live in Iran, we plan to go shopping in Turkey for a day) so I have to leave my piggie behind for about 48 hours: I'll leave early morning Saturday and I'll get back late night Monday.
This border-town we're going to is basically in the middle of nowhere so there are really no vets at all that could take care of her so I plan to leave her with this VERY old woman (my best option mallethead ) and I can't really expect her to clean up the cage or even monitor her food and water. I will put two water bottles and a load of hay and pellets and half of a bell pepper (which she LOVES but eats rather slowly)
Is this ok to do?
8...
She's an only piggy and she's never been away from me for longer than a couple of hours 8...

I personally would not risk this as 48 hours is a very long time for her to be left alone. What if she ran out of water or hay? Any vegetables would be eaten at once or wilt. I just would not take the risk.

I have to agree with Piggyfan, i know everyone has different opinions and might think i am being OTT but i would never leave mine for even more than 12 hours..... especially in a hot country,

I agree 48 hours is too long to leave a guinea pig as they need food and water and hay refilling :)

Well maybe I exagerated. The old woman will at least be able to refill her hay and pellets...probably {:| and the place I'm going to isnt hot at all it might actually be a bit cold (It's in the west of Iran, far away from the hot desert in the middle of the country lol)
I really don't know what to do....even in the capital (Tehran) all the places that agree to keep guinea pigs for a few days would keep them in the same room as insane barking dogs and I could never do that to my baby. And even if I could leave her behind she'd be away from me the WHOLE WEEK the poor thing would be too lonely I can never do that either.... Ugh! What am I supposed to do? mallethead

I'm wondering if you would be better to leave her at home when you go on your trip? Is there someone reliable and trustworthy who could look after her for you? I know a week is a long time to be apart from her, but if this elderly lady at the border town cannot check her water and food, then I really don't think it's advisable to leave her for 48 hours. :)

Edited: We posted at the same time. If the lady can refill her food and pellets then I don't see a problem. As long as she can check her water too. :)

The whole family is going on the trip and I don't have ANY friend I could trust that much....ugh I guess I'm better off not going at all.....I was really under the impression that leaving her for 48 hours is fine! I'm so glad I asked this question

The thing is I have never actually met this old lady...(she's my sister's friend's grandmother!) for all I know she might be scared of my little girl @)
I guess I just won't go...I'll spend a nice quite week alone with Miss Virginia Woolf (yes that's my piggie's name lmao)
Thank you so much everybody for your awesome answers! :) :) :)

I think you are making the right choice. It is lovely you love Miss Virginia Woolf so much. :)

Very sorry for your holiday and your family that you don't have any better connections where you are for pet-sitters. I am lucky my neighbour would pop in twice a day if I was desperate, I could leave her my keys. But I would prefer to leave my pig with someone pet savvy! My girl has had a lot of medical trouble!

I suppose you could call the break a little girls weekend in? Get some take away and watch some great movies together! My Leeland loves it when I make her a salad bar in front of the tv :P

Yeah mommy really loves her little baby :)) she sits on my bed and watches piggy videos on my iPad :))
And about the pet sitter thing, I completely agree! It needs to be someone profassional and experienced that I can trust. My boyfriend could keep my princess "alive" I guess but there's no way I could trust my little girl with him for a whole week because as you said there's always a chance of medical problems and he wouldn't have the first idea what to do @) lol girl's weekend in it is...xx>>>
