All are a load of rubbish ! (not sounding horrible!) the water things for changing water flavour will actually make your piggies drink less, which isn't good !

Pet shop products for treating anything, even fleas are pretty useless as they aren't very strong due to restrictions on how powerful they can be sort of thing.

If you have any problems with medical things the best thing to do is to go to your vet and have them prescribe something, (:
 
Yeah had a feeling those would be a bit pants :))

But thought people said the probiotic was good for pigs on antibiotics? :^-
 
I think you'd be better off finding a more cavy savvy vet. Windwhistle Warren isn't too far from you so I would recommend asking them which vet they use. At least then you know you'll have an experienced vet.

I've never had a piggy on anything more than eye drops so I'm not all cavy savy when it comes to medication and stuff !
 
we use "biolapis" and "critical care" and "fibreplex" that sort of thing depending on what the problem is... we get these from "petpharmacy" and places like that online....we never add anything to their diet or give them any medicine unless absolutely necessary
 
Hi jess, I use and I think most do use probiotic when their piggies are antibiotics because they can get upset stomachs. Try avipro. Someone on here, I think wieke, recommended it.

I would recommend to ask your nearest rescue what vet they use and whether they could recommend them - a good vet can make such a difference!
