I know this is probably a stupid question as I know how rescues work regarding homechecks etc. However, if you don't ask you'll never know. My new boar lost his brother on Tuesday two days after I rehomed them. I have posted about this on other threads. I have no way of rehoming another male as I live rural. Ayr is probably my nearest rescue. I don't want him to be on his own but have no idea how to resolve this. Is there any way around this? If anyone knows of any way I could rehome a boar I would love suggestions.

I am also happy to rehome a female at the same time if at all possible. My two sows currently live in a 200cm x 60cm cage.

I know it's a long shot, but there are so many guinea pigs needing homes it breaks my heart to see them all, knowing I have space but I'm unable to do anything about it.

Have you tried phoning or emailing them to ask? They can only say no and you'll be no worse off. Have you thought of having your remaining boar neutered and after the 6 week wait introducing him to your girls?

I agree that all you can do is phone and ask. They can only say no. I have rehomed from a rescue before without going to visit. She was happy for me to email her photos of my setup and the the piggy, Enoch was piggy trained half way up the M1 by a kind volunteer and I drove halfway and met her at a service station.

Most rescues will rehome outside of their immediate catchment area as long as they are happy with the set up. Usually this involves lots of phone calls, emails and photos etc. Sometimes they have a network of local people who can do the home check for you.
I am assuming that you could get yourself to the rescue for boar dating?

Hi, Ayrs guinea pig rescue would be willing to rehome to you as long as your set up met the requirements. However with boars it is really preferable if you can bring your boar down for boar dating as this is the best way to get a stable bond. I understand this isn’t always possible though.
