I thought Lettuce was fine to feed daily. Ive been feeding my piggies lettuce everyday, green leaf and romaine.

But i just saw a link here in the forum where its not recommended

It hasn't really got any nutritional value. You can give most lettuces daily if you like - but I would advise in small quantities as a treat. The calcium - phosphorus ratio of romaine isn't ideal so, I would limit romaine to once or twice a week.

Iceberg should be avoided as it has very little nutritional value. We feed little gem around 3-4 times a week. Never fed Romaine due to what @PiggyOwner says above

Depends on the kind! Iceberg lettuce is not good for them as it's too full of water. It will give them diarrhea pretty quick. Other lettuces are fine though. I give mine a bit every day, just for the taste of it. However, if should not substitute as actual food. Pigs need variety.

Thanks for the reply! i give my piggies unlimited hay daily, and limited pellets every evening. Now i was just wondering about the lettuce because i have been giving them daily and i read here in the forum that daily lettuce was not good for them. (Not just iceberg lettuce which i know is a no no)

I keep reading mixed info for this. Some say feed lettuce daily as cabbage can cause bloat and higher in calcium, others say to feed cabbage daily as lettuce (any, not just iceburg) is too watery and causes runny poos.
Not sure what to do for the best, I will probably just feed both and alternate.
