Hey everyone :)

We've been sorting the back garden out for the past week now and have started growing the odd few veggies for the guinea's :)

Were so far growing:

Grass
Dandelions (yes we started with the easiest things first lol)
Parsley
Endive
Carrots
Spinach
Thyme

My question is (other than carrots) Are my boys able to have the other veggies daily?

Also are guinea's able to have thyme? I've read on some websites they can and others that they can't @)

Piggies should be given a varied mix of veg, I give peppers, cucumber, different lettuces, babycorn, pak choi, broccoli and other veg too but make sure they get different things each day.
Not sure about thyme. I think everything in your list should be given in moderation.

Everything you've listed is fine for them to eat daily but go easy on introducing it to them if they've never had any of it before.

I would not feed spinach (or kale, at that) daily - it is very high in calcium and that can lead to bladder stone problems later on. You will notice that your piggies will have milky pee afterwards from excess calcium. Mine have it only rarely as a special treat - but then I have been through the wars with a bladder stone piggy.

Vitamin A builds up in the liver, so too much carrot and Romaine lettuce are not good either - give them 2-3 times a week.

Parsley should not be given daily either.

You can for instance have some fruit and veg you can serve on alternating days, like carrot, tomatoes, apple, green beans, Romaine/cos lettuce. I feed sweetheart cabbage (it is one of cabbage varieties that is not "bloaty" ), cucumber, celery daily and vary the other foods.

I would make sure that you include at least one high vitamin C veg daily, either a slice of pepper of any colour, broccoli, fresh parsley, dill or coriander, so you have got a range of options.
