Can Piggies Catch Human Stomach Upsets?

I have the worst stomach upset.

I'm scared to go into Jemima and Casran's room.

But they need fresh water and are squealing for me more and more distressed.

Can I make them ill?

I would just wash your hands really well before sorting their water out and avoid handling them just in case, hope you feel better soon x

Going into their room and not picking them up is going to be a struggle ... for all of us x
 
Aww, it's just better to be safe than sorry, it's unlikely they will catch it with good hand hygiene before and after. Hope you get over it soon! :nod:
 
I've always been told that most illnesses are species-specific. It's definitely better to go give them water, though! Just wash your hands good.
 
If it's a simple stomach ache I doubt it's contagious to other humans or animals. There are very few guinea pig-human transmittable diseases and just with proper hygiene (hand washing) you can prevent the spread of whatever you may have to your pig. Hope you feel better soon!
