Got back from our hols in Tenby, Wales . . . I spent Friday in bed after heavy sickness and thought it was something I ate as hubby and kids were OK.

We got the piggies back from my mum's (so good to see them again :smitten:) and we had them in for a while because there was a big fireworks display on near us last night.

However today both my kids and hubby have gone down with it so it must be a bug ::) Can piggies catch things like that from us? Anybody know?

(good job I'm feeling better myself today as I'm playing nursy)

I'm not sure...as a general rule, if you are ill (coughing/sneezing/being sick etc) I would stay away from them, wash hands thoroughly before touching them/preparing their food etc. and try not to breathe on them and all should be okay.

Peter guerney (sp?) used to take some of his piggies into childrens wards in hospital so ?

but I wonder if he took them to see all the children or just certain ones? For example - taking them to a ward from broken bones it's not likely to be children with flu coughing everywhere? hmm..

There are a few things but generally since they aren't carnivores and they aren't our species they are safer to be with than humans :D

Well we didn't handle them too much as they were already a bit stressed at being moved from my mum's (although it's only a mile away but still . . .) Fingers crossed. They all look well atm :-\

I read somewhere (possibly Peter Gurney book) that they can't catch anything from us although sometimes we can catch stuff from them - mainly parasite related skin problems. So don't think you've anything to worry about. Glad you're on the mend :smitten:
