my boys seem to always be hungry. Just the sound of a bag and they are out to see what is on offer.
They have a diet of pellets, muesli, fruit, vegetables and dandiolion leaves etc..
sorry if its an obvious question but i cant seem to find the answer anywhere. They are in a run all day with cover so could have the opportunity for plenty of exercise (if they could be bothered lol)
thanks

well idk but from personal experience they just eat and eaT and eat! gilbert is either in his house sleeping, eating in his bowl, next to the hay rack, or begging me for food. so i guess they just love to eat?:(|)

Guinea pigs can get overweight, when they have too much rich food to eat and not enough exercise.

My neutered boar is a bit on the stout side as he grew sideways as well lenghthways on his last growth spurt at about 13-15 months old. But he hasn't put on any more weight for a year now, nor has he lost much!

I put my pigs on the scales every month, more often if I think that their weight has changed when I pick them up, or they are not well. Their weight can change about 30-50g from day to day depending on their intake.

From your pic, yours should be absolutly OK. They pretty much eat, sleep it off and eat more, have a bit of a run and a cuddle and a treat... Wish I were a piggy!
